Baptism
Adults who are interested in baptism or baptism for their children are encouraged to speak to Pastor Hansen.
Baptism is such a profound and wonderful gift that sustained preparation is needed. Such preparation includes teachings around the Christian faith and being introduced to the Christian practices of prayer, worship, and community.
Lent is the season of the church year that is especially set aside for such preparation. The Easter Vigil is the preeminent occasion for baptism.
Other festivals are appropriate for baptism, as well. The festivals that are especially suited for celebrating baptism are these:
- The Baptism of our Lord (early January)
- The Great Vigil of Easter (Easter Eve)
- Sundays in Easter
- Pentecost (late spring)
- All Saints Sunday (early November)
